COVID-19: Silver Screen Studies

Over the past few months, our daily lives have been increasingly affected by COVID-19. In the beginning of fall of last year, a majority of the world, including myself, have never even heard the word "coronavirus." Now it is an overlying truth almost controlling every action we take in our lives. Most are deciding not to shake hands; some are even staying in their homes until this passes over. I am 17 year old who just started my Spring break. The Coronavirus has halted all "Spring break activities" such as going to the beach. Although I am young and have no underlying health conditions, I am also no disease expert/professional. The one thing I am is a person with common sense... this pandemic, in my belief, is not going away any time soon.

As a true cinephile, I will watch almost any movie when given the opportunity. In these moments of crisis, you have to make the best out of the worst. For example, although I am locked indoors during Spring break (a teenager's worst nightmare), I personally see this as an opportunity to watch films and spend time on my blog. I hope others make the most out of this extremely unique spring break by doing something they love... within reason (due to COVID-19).

Over the next few weeks, Silver Screen Studies will continue to not only write movie reviews, but will also provide a "questionnaire" section of the website devoted to people who need movie recommendations during this time of crisis. For example, if you want to see a specific action movie, tell me this information and I will gladly get back to you as soon as possible. :)

STAY SAFE!!
